Directors Note: I saw this show when it first played in New York City at the Daryl Roth Theatre in 2005 and was struck by how natural and modern the language sounded. I knew these characters from my time in New York. They were ambitious. They were ruthless. They were clever and well-educated and believed the world would bend to their will. Even then it felt so present and relevant, raising discussions as complicated as privilege and social status and as simple as revenge. In the information age, where plagiarism is as easy as a click of a button, MANUSCRIPT asks where the line rests between an idea you have and an idea you own.

The actors that I have had the pleasure of working with on this production are creative, fearless artists. Each one of them brings a depth and complexity to characters that could easily be caricatures or monsters. It is my honor and delight to introduce you to the cast of MANUSCRIPT.
